Off different 1994 WRX's, can anyone advise the difference between the ECU's.

 

Nothing really...the both do the same and have the same performance maps.
Can be swapped without problems.

 

both 240bhp ecu's late 94 have Z4 ecu (260bhp)

 

So can anybody poiint me in the right direction to obtain a Z4 then to replace my U8 or W6 ?

Muly you say that you have a z4 ecu in youre my93. I have the same car, what mods have you done and any figures on bhp for youre moto.
I have fitted magnex back box,k&n 57i, turbo has been changed to a 97RA type and boost is running at about 12psi.
Is this boost about right?
Please tell more about youre car.........

 

taffy sparky- the boost you have sounds about right ,the only mods i have is a Z4 ecu with a scooby ecu chip fitted ,running 16 psi, and a magnex cat back stystem,HKS panel filter, the car is much better now, not had it on the rolling rd yet, but did have a little race with a 280bhp scooby(on private rd) and was at his rear door ,so think it must have about 270 ish, even if you change your 240 ecu for the later Z4 you will notice a differance, its got a much better map to it and you get an extra 20bhp , hope this helps
