I have today had a good luck underneath the Scoob this being MY00Turbo with PPP and am a little confused by the centre section. I have carried out a Decat to the D/Pipe and have replaced the prodrive rear box with a Vortex

However having looked earlier it looks like I have another cat in the centre section. Basically I can see a flatish squareish box (with what looks like a heat shield over it) at about the centre of the centre section but right behind it is what looks to me to be a baffle/resonator piece ?? Is this right - I mean do the ppp centre sections have 2 type of baffles within them ? I am very interested to know what other peeps have got who are running 99/00 PPP'd Tubs.

That is just a resonator

 

I had no idea the resonator was in 2 bits ?? Hmmmm so I assume there will be no gain in changing out the prodrive centre section for another ?

 

I'm off down to my garage in a bit, I will see if I can find my PPP centre section, and I will take a photo of it.

I replaced the Prodrive centre with a Magnex non resonated one, mainly as it was stainless steel, and it was only £50. Cant say that i saw any real gains from doing it though.

 

The difference you'll notice will be in the sound, not the performance. It's one of the very first mods I did to my own car.

The PPP centre looks identical to the std cat one until you peer inside. When I sold mine to one of the local Scottish lads, here e-mailed John Banks coz he thought I'd sold him a std centre LOL
