APS Turbo Outlet?
I used there cast iron hi flow turbo outlet on my 03 STi but with Cat bypass pipe, one thing to note it doesnt fit to conventional exhaust systems, doesnt meet up in the same place so really you will need the full APS system. Quality is very good, fit is good, worked well on my car. i have a full system with the high flow turbo outlet elbow for sale if youre interested. Save yourself some money.

Cheers Conrad,
I really want to fit the front Cat to save messing about when the MOT comes around. I did suspect that the joints were in different positions. I already have a SS (resonator removed) centre centre section and b/box so I figured that I could fit the APS outlet and Sports Cat then get a cutom made section to remove the secondary Cat and mate up with my centre section.
The APS photos certainly look as if the kit is top quality, does the lambda sensor plug back in to the outlet? If it is made from cast iron I assume it will suffer from the dreaded rust? The picture on the APS website shows a small heatshield fitted, did yours come with this?
Who did you buy yours from?
cheers

There is a standard heatshield that comes with the full system, and would be pretty certain it comes with just the outlet. I also trimmed (with an angle grinder) the standard turbo heatshield and re-fitted that as well. No rust problems with mine, is covered by the APS lifetime guarantee (all except the cat itself). Benefit of the cast section is that it keeps the heat in better than Stainless tubing, so no need to lag it.
The back lambda plugs into the front of the APS centre section, just downstream of the cat, so it is reading a catalysed exhaust gasses and therefore might not throw a CEL (some do, some don't).
Anyway, I have the full APS system on my WRX. Whilst you can fit any backbox, the APS centre section mates nicely to their downpipe, and does a very effective job - 3" right through, but with a long resonator to keep the noise down.
General comments - great. Haven't had the car long enough to go through MOT yet (less than 2 years old), but the exhaust makes a very nice noise when you open it up, whilst being a lot quieter than most on the cruise. Together with Scoobysport up-pipe & ported headers and an Ecutek, I've twice got in the 280s bhp, a best of 272 torque, and very nice flat power and torque curves, well up with normal decat/ecutek WRXs.
Fit? - well I did it with my brother in an evening and still had a game of squash. I found it wasn't hanging quite straight initially, but APS supply a slotted bracket so that was a 5 minute job to get perfect. The quality is definitely top drawer, very well made.
I got mine from Jamie Whitfield (J-W Racing). Would happily recommend him, but he no longer stocks APS.
Hope that helps?
Phil

Thanks for the feedback Phil, it sounds like a good way to go and should work out as a cost effective altve to a £500 Sports Cat downpipe. The other advantage would be the ability to change out the Cat or by-pass if need be as this bolts on to the cast outlet which could be left undisturbed.
G-Force Motorsport are the main UK stockists, but it's reassuring to know you're getting good quality kit.
