What cat....
Can anyone tell me how many cats my01 uk300 has?Where would be the best place to start in replacing them without making it sound like a tornado but have a good thump. It already has a ppp with prodrive rear silencer which i think isnt to bad but i know there is a bit more in there somewhear. And how does this affect the MOT
Can anyone recomend anything as iam just new to this,so any suggestions would be great to get me moving.... : :

Hi LeeG.
Your car will have 3 cats altogeather.
1. up-pipe
2. Down-pipe
3. center section.
you can easily replace cats 2 and 3 and still pass an MOT with just cat 1.
I have replaced 2 and 3 with H&S, but kept my Prodrive backbox. This gave me an increase in performance and made the car alittle louder.
Some cars of this year require a fix for the rear o2 sensor, as removing cat 2 can bring the engine light on. (mine did not require it)
Hope this helps..Lee

If it has a PPP, cat 3 will already have been removed, I believe?
To be honest, the biggest performance benefits come from cats 1 and 2, you're better off either fitting a sports cat, or keeping cat 3 and getting it really hot before the MOT if you want ultimate performance whilst still being MOT legal. I have a sports cat downpipe in my 02 WRX, and no other cats. Add that to a remap, >280bhp and a nice wider and taller torque curve.

Be careful leaving cat 1 in, if you intend on modifying the car further. There have been posts on here regarding up-pipe cat breaking up, making it's way into the turbo, knackering turbine blades...
