When snicking 4th at over 4000rpm I tend to get a little crunch.
The car has done just over 3000 miles.
Now the problem I have is that the car is a Euro Import and it had a full de-cat sccobysport exhaust system. Hence warranty invalid.
What causes this? is it expensive to repair?
To be honest it sucks, I have wanted a scoob for ages save up and this happends. Someone reassure me that all will be OK.
However the car sounds wicked and make me smile daily (if I dont race through the gearbox to often!)

Davyboy,
Having a full de-cat exhaust should not affect the warranty on your gearbox. The drivetrain is easily capable of handling alot more power than the extra a de-cat exhaust will generate, e.g. PPP. Suggest you tackle a local dealer. At worse you could put your standard exhaust back on.
It sounds like a syncro problem, but the again, what do I know. Anyway, mine doesn't do it and I've got 5,000 miles on now.

Unfortunately about the only majour weakness on any Subaru is the gearbox.
Yes, synchro crunch, but could also be a slightly bent selector folk.
Get it sorted because to replace a synchro is very expensive, one of the bearings you need to remove is about $400 dollars by it self and I don't believe it can be removed without breaking.
The other thing they may do is put some synchro crunch additive in the box.
