Got one on my P1 and the sound is great, much better than the standard STi backbox. It isn't obtrusive, just much more purposeful.
Unofficial sources at Prodrive quote c10bhp increase but I suppose that these can only be confirmed by using a RR.
Just go for it and it does't invalidate your warranty either.
