How often should one replace an ITG (scoobysport) filter?

(I know they can be cleaned, but for £40 it's easier to replace!)

Cheers

I seem to recall 15K miles being the time to clean or replace..

Fosters, if you're going to throw it away you could throw it in my direction

Cheers Pete - mine's done just over 10K miles, so I'll leave it for the moment.

They should last for 30k.

If, before this time, you get a large build of dirt on the lower face (the courser side), break the dirt up with a tissue and suck it off with a vacuum cleaner. This is best done when you wife is out

ITG's cannot be DIY re-coated as the polymer used has to be impregnated at over 100degC, using a special machine.

If you've removed the resonator I'd recommend cleaning the bugs out regularly (using Pete's method)

Do a search in drivetrain with the words resonator and removal and you will see many threads that debate the issues and give instructions on the topic.
