Ninja or prodrive backbox...? your opinions
I've the chance to buy a nearly new prodrive backbox, to go onto my 01wrx, but for a while i've been thinking about a ninja which are going for £215 new. The guy wants around £200 for the prodrive.
Will the prodrive give a better sound and any performance advantage over my standard backbox, and will the ninja be too loud? I don't fancy falling out with the neighbours.
cheers. kev

Nice picture, like the letters - just like mine, only silver I have gold
I've heard the Ninja and it sounds good.
For me the PPP box has one advantage, when driving off boost it is exceptionally quiet. But loud when giving it WOT, but also in that instance it looses the dugga dugga Scooby noise, and becomes more of a roaring noise with the dugga dugga bit feintly on top of it.
I have the PPP BBox with P1 centre section and decat downpipe on my Classic Wagon so that it cruises really quietly, but is quiet noisy otherwise.

I have a Ninja on an MY02, Quality is excellent and the sound is awesome, but
not too in your face to upset the neighbours to much. Noise is not that noticeable in the cockpit, unless you got ya foot down. When cruising at 40mph in urban areas with your foot just resting on the throttle, the cockpit is bout same as std for noise, until you put ya foot down.
I thing it sounds great, and is exactly as in the mpeg movies on scoobyworld.
Go on you know it makes sense

My problem was that's I have a classic wagon. Less sound proofing than the bugeye. Tried Magnex, Scoobysport and TSL babck boxes and all three were just too boomy in the car at 3000RPM (read 75mph).

The Ninja on its own is a great sound but not deep. With a decat D/P it sounds even better. With a full decat it's much deeper and more boomy inside the cockpit but not over the top.
smurfy.

I've got a Ninja on my WRX 01 and had one on my classic wagon before that. IMO it looks great, sounds superb without being too loud and is good value for money - I'd recommend it to anyone.
