Just drained my gearbox oil as it has been getting hard to engage fifth for the last 4 days., and these were stuck to the magnet on the back of the nut, they are identical to each other, and there are no rough edges, still cant get fifth without letting the revs drop back to 1000rpm, any one got any ideas,
1st 2nd 3rd 4th and reverse all feel alot smoother now,
if it helps the clutch was changed 6 weeks ago, but the oil wasnt changed then.

Looks like a gearbox strip down to me. I'm no expert but I have stripped a couple of gearboxes including partially stripping my MY00 box down to the 5th gear with the box in situ. The parts your looking at I think are part of the baulk ring assembly. This will also be why you are having these symptoms. I think from my own experience you will have to remove the box to get access to all the selectors and baulk rings. I'm sure there are people on here who will give you better advice.

cheers for the help, apart from bigdwrx and dxx
anyone else got any ideas, i'll strip the box next weekend, but it would be helpful to know what they are exactly.
