Hi All,
Will be fitting my JDM 6 speed Tuesday. I'll be fitting a 3.9 rear diff at same time. Anyone swapped the rear diff? Is it easy?! Do the driveshafts come out without having to remove the rear hubs?
Thanks - all advice appreciated
Richard

not sure if this is do-able in all cases ...
but you can take the long bolt out from the bottom of the rear hub assembely (it runs front to back right at the bottom) and then PUSH the strut outwards. this gives enough slack to take the shaft out of the diff (with a little leverage)

It can be done like this, make it easier and get a mate to help pull the strut out while you guide the shafts out of the diff. Then drop the whole rear diff carrier assembly off the car. There are 4 bolts holding it in. The two lateral braces and two that hold the diff into the rear subframe.
