Question

Got my Graham Goode I/C protector a week back - by Fedex (cheap! )

However, there's something not right with my Impreza MY00GT, since the protector grill was definately designed for my car, but it just can't fit in where it is supposed to be.

"What you say?!"

Ok, "Main screen turn on":

The proportions in the picture are exaggerated quite a bit - the I/C hole is a whole lot bigger in real life compared to the surroundings...

If anyone understands what my problem is, pllllllease do say what you think.

Cool

Ari,

In my experience ,usually the intercooler protector fits onto the intercooler itself and not the underbonnet tray.

if you have any problems e-mail me

Are there four holes in the GGR shield and are there four pot rivets around the surrounding of your intercooler.
Perhaps from this you might conclude where it is supposed to be fitted!
Firstly you have to drill the rivets out and then sit the shield on top of the intercooler. Then put a bolt through each hole and tighten with a nut!
Magic!!!
You now have an even more restricted air flow to your intercooler for those nice hot sunny days.
I've got my one sat in my garage after someone very kindly pointed out the usefulness of them.

The I/C protector is NOT to be fit on the top of the intercooler.

First, I was trying to mount it on the top of the IC - not a chance. The fence is twice as big as the I/C top surface. GrahamGoode Tech Support told me directly that it is to be mounted between the bonnet and the ... err.. some vent, English not being my strongest language, leaving me only one option that I could understand... which I already explained in the piccie.

Ok, I could probably cut the fence so that the "trouble maker plate" could go trhough the fence...

I also mailed GrahamGoode about this post, so I'm expecting their reply. I hope I find some kind of solution here - the idea of paying £65 for a piece of useless fence would bug the hell out of me...

Rocco and Bladernnr; The fence really is almost twice the size as the I/C... doesn't mount on the top... thanks for trying anyway - I appreciate it

And hey, don't even think fitting the fence isn't worth it. I've had anything between small rocks and a sparrow @80mph being sucked inside the bonnet scoop. One tenth of my I/C surface was completely busted because of this. Now, THAT reduces air flow much more...

You obviously go rallying a lot more than me and hence in need of one a lot more!
If you really can't get it sorted out with GGR you can have my one very cheap. It's easy to fit, like I said, just four bolts!
If you want it let me know!

I've got the same GGR I/C protector for my MY98 - it fits quite well between the underbonnet tray and scoop. Easy 10 minute job to fit.

If you want I can take some pictures of my installation and post 'em here.

Ooops, just seen your diagram - my I/C protector has a cut out allowing the "trouble maker plate" to be fed through the mesh. Sounds like you have the wrong bit.

Question

What have GGR had to say about this? Have they sent the wrong part?
