MY ?
I know i am a newbie only had my 94 legacy turbo for a month and am trying to understand the lingo ie. MY what does this mean i'm confused need help feeling dizzy................................
If this is listed in the FAQs then I apologise in advance but aren't the dates out of synch. For example my turbo registered in August 98. Is it a MY98? Some people advertise in the trader, for example, MY98when they are 97 cars, and it ain't just scoobys. Anyone help?
Manufacturers normally bring out their next year spec car around September or so. So, a car built (hypothetical example) in Sept 99 to the calendar year 2000 spec will be a MY00 spec car.
The registration date determines its actual year of course.
So, a car built in Dec 99 will be a 99 registered car but MY00 spec.
There are a lot of cars built in the late 80's/early nineties (not Subaru's!) when there was chronic oversupply that were registered up to two years after they were built - they spent the first two years of their life sitting on a disused airfield in the midlands....
