hi alan
depends on how long are you keeping the car for and how much you are welling to spend.
a bleed valve to raise the boost with in the limits of the ecu ie by around 2 psi will give the most power and best VFM. it should give around 15-20bhp. remember this is not a chip just a bleed valve on its own. do a search there is loads on that.
if however you are keeping the car for a while and you want to do it properly then the list goes like this
1-ecu £1000-1300 if you are going with link
2-turbo 750-1600
3-FMIC or water injection or both if you are running high enough boost 800+/-350for wi
4- manifolds ??
5- engine rebuild ( no answer to this one depends on your budget )
i have reached 3 and researching NO.4 at the mo.
sam
i hope this helps
if you go to the auto speed site there is loads of real proper info.

Yep, go with boost and brakes.
Weakest link of the engine is fueling. As long as your pump is in good condition, up to 16psi from the standard turbo is usually ok. Get it on a dyno and check the mixtures if you are worried. Last injector off the rail is the one that leans out.
Brakes are simple if you're not after huge gains. Dump the fluid, in with some SRF and some decent pads. The braces to stop the firewall from flexing under load are also good.
As for autospeed, I subscribed and won't be renewing. The wrx mod articles are just reprinted advertising and the forums are getting canned. Much better off seeking the free advice of those who have been there and done it.
Best mod of all is get to some advanced driver training and then practice on the racetrack. A good driver will often beat a fast car.

There's another order if you've got the scared rabbit.
1. Cosmetics
2. A bit o' more cosmetics
3. U guessed it - even more cosmetics
4. Brakes
5. Suspension (lowering it half a mile or something)
6. Power (lots of it)

Ther's nothing "posey" about my car now mate. It's just done a 4.85 0-100 kmh (with a poor upshift to 2:nd).
Seriously...I tried a standard MY01 just the other day - D A M N!!!! I'd never have guessed they forgot to install the turbo?
So it's not just so-so looking, it's SLOOOOOOOOOW as well, the seats was excellent though, I've got to admit that.
Actually I almost had a moment due to complete lack of power.
You need a fully decatted zorst...a VF turbo and a Link mate, yesterday.
Cheers

Give me regards to the ole' missus.

Sam,
Everyone likes different things and I think it would be harsh to say that it's all crap. Having said that, I've not read an article that I thought was worth paying for since I subscribed and don't even bother checking them out any more. Reviews of shiny cars with lots of stickers and advertising disguised as tech articles just don't do it for me. Biggest problem is the editor but I won't go into that.
I paid for the forums (which were excellent) but they are being discontinued. Most of the people have migrated over to here: board.performanceforums.com
Most of the things questions anyone could have about a rex can be answered either in there or on your own site here.
I don't know of anyone here in Aus that has a cooler setup as sweet as yours though. I was going to do something similar but put it in the too hard basket and decided to buy a racecar instead.

Coyote,
It sounds as if there is something personal between Autospeed and yourself .
FWIW I think it is an excellent site with some very good articles although I would agree that the WRX parts features were disappointing .
Putting that into context, it is only because of the standard of most of the other articles is so high!

i think you may hav mistaken me for someone else mate, i most of the stuff i have has been done in OZ i think. vf23, aps intercooler and filter, link, 1.35 bar 330bhp/310lb-ft that sort of thing . it is adam that has got a custom fmic on a 22b now that is cool

Sam,
Yep, I did have you confused with Adam. Nothing wrong with the APS cooler though. I've driven half a dozen cars with them fitted (a couple with VF23s) and they control intake temps very nicely although they do have a lot of plumbing (unlike Adam's).
Gavin,
As I pointed out, different people like different things.

I am thinking about a superchip which alledgedly will give 30 BHP(£350)+(£50)fitting and VAT, Does anyone know if Bob Rawle or Power Engineering do anything equivalent?

Scooby Regular
I think Bob may be insulted by the comparison to a Superchip, and too polite to comment
A Link is about £1000 more, and you definitely get what you pay for....peace of mind, and an engine that is more likely not to give an impression of a hand grenade!
