Hi

What do you lot think of the following setup, what will the results be, will it even fit, and is there a better option?

HKS downpipe into sti3 standard centre section into Scoobysport backbox.

Is the HKS downpipe of 3 or 2.5 inch bore? If the former, will it mate to the standard centre?

Cheers

Mike

Don't understand why you want to do that. Bigger front pipe, bigger backbox but smaller center pipe....... Do you think its good idea to have a bottle neck?

Good point. Just thought it would keep the noise to acceptable levels with the standard centre(but I have decided I don't car about that... ) and I heard the sti centre was not too restrictive.

Therefore scratch the centre, and make that an SS one too

So hks dp into ss mid and back. Opinions?

Thanks again

Afraid the noise? Why not put a silencer at the mid section, won't affect the performance much but more confortable driving. Try not get too big dia. exhaust, 2 1/2" is better than 3" for your application.

Tractor, you dont want the hks downpipe anyway. It is one of the worst after market pipes as it blocks off the wastegate exit.

Scoobysport is nice and easy, but for silence go for bpm downpipe. It is three inch so would need a scoobymania or bpm centre.

the point is, it is mild steel which is hpc coated. The design is good for power, but due to resonance characteristics of mild steel, it is apparently 6 db quieter than scoobysport pipe.

Saying that being only mild steel, if the hpc coating fails it could be prone to corrosion, and i have seen spots of brown on some peoples downpipes. Whereas the ss alhough louder, is full stainless as guarnateed for life. It is also three inch, but narrows smoothly to 2.5 at the joins.
