Ric, it's not answering the question you asked, but what the hell?
I've just moved from Ramair panel filter (with all resonator gubbins in place) to a K&N induction kit. The difference is very noticeable - my car definitely pulls harder in the midrange. Dunno about top, as I'm not one for caning it above 6k due to worries about det. I also believe it's of dubious benefit when changing at that point drops you square in the torque zone.
The difference when I fitted a SS backbox was negligable (apart from the wonderful noise ). This mod has definitely made a difference.

Not a bad question, as there are two bits of kit referred to as resonators on the Scooby;

the one being talked about on this thread, which is the large black "plastic" box in the inner wing before the air filter. It is designed to reduce the induction noise from the engine (which can be as much as the exhaust noise on a normally aspirated engine), and in bull**** theory straightens out the airflow before the MAF sensor.

a type of silencer box in the exhaust system that doesn't contain baffles, but aims to reduce the booming noise of the exhaust at certain engine speeds by being of a tuned length such that the pressure waves cancel each other out. Most Scoobynetters appear to like loud exhausts so take them out!

Hope that answers your question, or maybe you now regret asking! As ever, bull**** baffles brains.

Um, I think they are talking about the plastic box *inside* the wing, in front of the air filter box

Barge
I did remove mine but the method was kind of expensive
Take one lamp post,approach at just over walking pace aim to strike just behind the o/s indicator.
Get out of car and sheepishly look at crumpled front wing and lo and behold just behind the bumper on the ground is THE RESONATOR BOX. Job done.
Usual disclaimers about this sort of thing but no one would be daft enough to try it... would they?
