Just changed the battery on my 94 WRX, must have been dead for @ 2 weeks, Started the car ok & drove it gently for about 5 miles, then when accelerating hard to 5k rpm engine cut out & engine check light came on, continued slowly home with no further problems,once home every time tried to accelerate quickly engine cuts out(like its over boosting)engine check light has now gone off. I meant to check code but forgot.

Anybody had similar problem or got any suggestions to likely cause. Car drives fine no other obvious problems & good mpg. Car worked fine before changing the battery.

 

Worth a try....
Disconnect the batt, clean the posts and treminals with wire wool or v-fine emery and give it another try

Is the battery the right ampage?

Might be that your alternator is on the way out??

could be a faulty new batt??
