Uni-chip
#2
Hi
I have one fitted to MY99 and I am very satisfied.
Unichip was mapped @1,05 bar max, 1,2 bar peak.
results: 253PS;327Nm
Fuel consumption has decreased about 1,5-2l.
Frank :-)
Other mods: SS -DP and BB, FORGE VTA, K&N, Samco Hoses

On my MY94 I acheived very similar results to Frank, although there are a couple of things to consider.
Firstly the location of your Unichip dealer. Any modifications after you have the Unichip fitted will require a re-map.
I (personally) would look at your options like link etc. Second time around this would be my choice for two reasons - though this is not to say that I'm not pleased with the Unichip.
1. You can remove the dreaded MAF sensor with the link.
2. You can change the maps your self (whether this is a good or bad thing I'm not sure really!!)

Mo,
and a third reason is that you can tailor your boost profile.
A number of Unichippers have commented to me recently that they enjoy the higher levels of boost, but would prefer it if they could roll off the boost at higher revs.
This is clearly impacted by many factors and there are compromises with any set up - but an additional thought for you to consider.
Cheers,
Trout
