Bad Scooby
Got a strange rattling INTERNAL noise on Saturday. It sounds like perhaps the crank bearing (engine turns so cannot be broken crank). Im not too impressed I think its going to cost loads. My import RA has 45k on the clock I dont think this should happen at 45k ? Unless someones telling porkys about the mileage. Any help advice greatly appreciated. Im so angry
I had a big end bearing go at 30k.
not impressed.
I ran it for too long after it started making nasty noises (I know,I know) and trashed crank, all rods, pistons etc etc.
get it checked out before driving anywhere - any decent mechanic should recognise the sound of a bearing failure.
(it's only engineers who used to design engines who can't recognise this noise......)

Sorry to be the voice of doom, but don't assume that a broken crank won't turn. I've never seen a broken Scooby crank, but on other engines they continue to turn (albeit with a horrible noise). I hope that it is just bearings. Get it looked at soonest.
