Question

Hi, I have a 95 WRX, have over the last couple of months, only about 4 times I've experienced a loss of power.. When braking before a corner, off the brakes & power (normal), back on the power out of the bend... but the car seems to stall as the accelerator is pressed, but then picks up back to normal in about 2 seconds.. ? confused ? could it be fuel vaporisation ? or the cornering ? sometimes, when the power comes back you'll get a bit of a pop... ?

Any advice... cheers

I had a similar problem with less than 1/3rd of a tank of fuel.
IMHO
The bottom of the fuel tank is not flat there are two shallow 'wells' either side of a raised section and i believe the fuel pickup is located in one side only - lowish fuel and it can cause this.

Must admit the first time it happened, I was very low on petrol, but the last time I must have had at least half a tank left...

I believe that you can adjust the hieght/depth of the fuel pick-up from a conversation i had with someone a while ago.

I have an MY99 - i seem to recolect that the pre 97 cars have a smaller tank - 50Litre vs. 60Litre capacaties so this may make it worse on the pre 97 cars?!?

Can anyone elaborate?

When you say half a tank; do you mean half-way on the guage?

I get 400k's/tank - 300k's done by half-way mark

Aggressive right hand corners have given me this with over half a tank.
