De Cat Centre section - Benefits?

I get my car back Thursday WHOOO_HOO!
I am planning on having the cat taken out and replaced with a Scorpion straight pipe.
I have been told that the turbo will spool up earler and give boost from lower RPM.
Questions
Is this true?
Any other benefits - power/performance
Any disadvantages?

I've just had mine done and have noticed 2 things
1) Yep it picks up qicker and
2) Noise
You can feel the rumble through ya backside and it's brill (in a non pervy type of way 
)
