Downpipe Fitting

Just bought myself a scoobysport downpipe and dump valve and am trying to install these parts myself with a bit of bother to say the least.
When removing the downpipe are there any tricks i should know to make it a bit easier , i have already spent an hour and a half taking off the turbo heat shield. There does not seem to be much access to get at the turbo exhaust joint, so was wondering if i would be as well putting the car into a garage to get done.
Any suggestions out there that may be of help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards, Kevin

Kev,
I'd take a trip into a "friendly" exhaust place m8.
I bought a scorpion downpipe last week and took it into a local place and it took these guys over an hour and a half just to remove the heatshields, top and bottom then a further hour to remove all the studs for the downpipe etc...putting it on only took them half hour, my P1 has 2 x heatshields but only the main, larger engine based shield goes back on, the smaller shield which does nothing but sit underneath the exhaust is surplus![](http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif)

Hi Kevin
i performed this operation myself a few months back. What i found is if you remove the intercooler it makes access to the turbo so much easier (sounds a bit drastic i know). It took about 5 mins to remove the i/c but a little longer to refit it,probably due to me being cak-handed
Hope this is of some help to u.
cheers
