Test drove an RB5 at the weekend. Pulled away from the garage and decided to use the air con as it was bloody hot. The car felt like it was lurching, is this normal as I have never had a car with air con.

 

Hi, I've noticed on my RB5 that the revs are very slightly higher on idle and the car feels like the topend comes in a bit sooner. I've just put it down the the negine working slightly harder when the air cons switched on. Never had the car "lurch" though with just the air con on.

Did you try switching it off for a blast, just to make sure it was down to the air con?

Maybe it was more related to the heat, than just the air con. Is it a WR Sport version or the std one?

Unfortunatly I did not turn the air con off,No it's not the wr sport, but I've bought it anyway. The dealership said they will service it and check it out. Hopefully it will be alright anyway it's still got manufacturers warrenty until June 2002.
