Removing Plugs
Haven't looked at this myself but...
Have been told by garage trying to service the scooby that there are 'individual coils' for each plug, bolted on with 12mm(?) bolt. These don't want to come undone (apparently). Anyone know of a 'trick' to this, or if not how easy is it to replace if they break?
Thanks!

hi there
each spark plug does have a coil pack. They are VERY easy to do. I took off the battery and washer bottle on the right hand side to make more room. Undo the 12 mm bolts on the coil packs until you can pull them in and out - you don't need to remove them all the way. Pull the coil packs out and the plugs are underneath. On the other side you will need to take off the air box for more room - but the coil packs are just as easy to take off. The spark plugs are deep but easy to change.
hope this helps

Neil,
due to the differing material types between the head and the bolt (ally / iron) they can sometimes get a bit stuck. If they are being really awkward, then try removing them with the engine warm, this sometimes helps, but normally they will "stick" and then they "crack" and then come undone very easily. You must have a spanner or socket that fully engages, the edges can get rounded off otherwise (yes, they really can get that "stuck" that the head gets rounded off, BUT if you use the right tool and it is seated fully they will come out without damage). It's scary how much force is sometimes required!
Hope this helps,
Pat.
