Yes that's correct Laurence. Did you also change the seal or use the old one?

I assume you mean the standard box from a P1 and not the P1 upgrade box. (Standard one has STi on the site).

If so then there isn't much difference as I have replaced the standard one on my MY98 with the STi one. The engine sounds a little deeper, it also seems a little more responsive but this could be the filter panel upgrade also.

Main thing is that the 3" pipe looks cool but you won't wake the neighbours!

I had to use a new seal since the old was totally shot away!

It costs about a fiver from your local dealer.

Hi there,

I fitted the STi back box to my MY98 5 door last weekend... seems to pull better, no louder though (which is good, as I would have trouble with the neighbours if so!).

I'm going to fit the ITG panel filter in the next week or so, so will repost when I've done that to let you know if / how much noise and power this adds.

Simon.

Nah, I'm going for an ex P1 centre... looking at sourcing a used one at the moment.

"If everybody looked the same"... or something :-)

Hey! I've got a Dog1 alarm as well. We went for the slightly bigger model though.

Sorry, no pics as it would spoil the surprise (plus I've never got around to uploading any).

Maybe we could get this Dog1 alarm thing certified? Ours used to be used for the breeding of junior dog1's but he can't do that anymore :-(

I believe a dog1 can only be fitted to the 5 door models though.

Sorry, it's Friday afternoon and I'm testing software.
