Anyone recommend a good unit and where to source one? Looking to get one to compliment the TEK3 to my bug eye.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Have you tried Pete at Spec-R. I have used his products which are very well made. He's always happy to chat about 1 off items as well.

Stuart,

I have the Cusco one, which is well made and looks nice but could (IMHO) do with an additional breather input.

Also I ended up making some brackets from 3mm ali as the std ones are 'one size doesn't quite fit all'. However the original ones are now put to better use supporting the halogen lamp over my garage workbench

I think JW Racing sells them.

I agree.
I drilled another hole in the top of mine and fitted a grommet to it (with a hole in the grommet)and inserted a 90 degree plastic pipe fitting of the type you would use for garden hose and available from B&Q etc.
This allowed the original fitting to go to the crankcase breather and the new fitting vented the rocker covers.

Thanks guys, I'll have a think about what to get, probably depending on how much a custom one is!

Alan,

And there was me hunting for a nice red and blue anodised fitting to match the existing ones!

My concern with adding another hole, is where to put it to prevent any kind of 'pass through' effect if the crankcase was breathing out whilst the rockers were breathing in, if you see what I mean.

I drilled the hole in the top of the casing Andrew and no issues with breathing at all from either crankcase or rocker covers.

Re: blue fittings....i use blue tubing though, does that count?

Demon tweeks do a nice one (AH) that has two inputs and one output and is actually baffled, the Cusco isn't iirc. The problems with this is due to it's shape (200 x 150 x 50) it's a bit difficult to mount in the impreza engine bay . May have a solution to that tho . It's only £80 plus vat too.

Personally think the cusco one has been a waste of time, it doesnt catch anything on my car. It needs some sort of baffle or something to slow the airflow down to allow the oil mist to drop in the can.

I am considering replacing mine with this one, and filling it with some scouring pads to aid the "catch" of the oil.

Mine doesn't catch anything either, I may try some wire wool in it.

Simon,

Nice one mate, but don't you get problems with it melting? If you do, you could always buy a certain type of vodka that comes in alloy bottles.

No melting problems no..

Had it behind the headlight for a good couple of thousand miles but moved it about 1500miles ago after removing the air con and therefore no compressor in the way etc..

I keep meaning to borrow a welder and make something but always something else to do.

Steven,

The pic you posted looks identical to the version 1 Greddy (they now have a version 2 which looks like the Cusco), how much is it out of interest? Still has the problem of only one input and i need two. Or i cold just vent the rockers to atmos (shouldn't these do more sucking than blowing?)... i have no inputs on my inlet pipe so they have to go somewhere.

Stroke of luck getting the Cusco.... just talkin on here about the Demon Tweeks one then Scoty puts a Cusco up for sale. Weird .

I'm going to add an additional inlet and get some wire wool or something as not not transfer the oild to the rocker covers when then are sucking and the crankcase is blowing. Any recomendations?

Could you not T the rockers together and then T them into the input to the catch can with the crank case on the other end of the T?

This is what will happen in the catch can anyway?

I suppose if the crank is venting and the cams sucking then some oil vapour will be transfered to the cams covers.. would that cause a problem?

Surely same occurs (minus the oil vapour hopefully) within the catch can?

P20SPD
Why not put wire wool inside the Cusco instead of buying another tank?
My system definitely works as can be seen by the pipework.
I wouldn't want to see shedloads of oil in the system though....

Steven, I'm on the look out for a Catch Tank too, was thinking of the Cusco as that seems to be the only readily available one (apart from Spec-R but at £175 + VAT----No thanks!) But that one from Gruppe-S looks great and good VFM! Anyone import them into UK??
