how hard would it be to put a manual gear box in a automatic sti its a 97 r reg

 

trist i would not evan bother i changed plugs on my scooby and cam belt what a night mare i would not wast your time .

Don't know much about auto scoobs but you obviously have to change the flywheel, clutch gearbox and the rear diffs to match the box. I think you need the ECU changed too as I don't know jack about autos. Getting the gearbox off is easy is p*ss and you could do it in 5 hours tops including putting the box in.
