Hi all
does anyone know what the benfits are of using an aftermarket recirculating dump valve for tuning please?
I've been told that for example, the Forge recirculating dump valve can be adjusted to open a specified boost pressure.
Would it be useful to get a recirculating dump valve before getting a remap done?
Thanks

I think it mainly depends on how much boost you are planning to run and whether or not you are using the MAF or not. IIRC, you are going to be using the Link so you could use a VTA if you wish.
The pros and cons of Re-cric vs VTA on a Link is not my thing but I'm sure you'll get someone along shortly who can help you further

I got all confused last time I went into recirculate and not..
But with regard to tuning the Forge, you can tune the recirculate and VTA Forge (Maybe other makes too?) the Forge one you buy a set of springs and shims from them for about £15 including postage and the dreaded. The springs are of varying compresion and you switch between springs to change the pressure at which the valve opens.
I have a problem with mine openning at idle and changed the spring rating which solved this.
I think most likely the standard spring and shims in it when bought normally are fine.. just bear in mind you can alter it if you have a problem.
I currently have a forge recirculate on my Link equipped car but I have it dumping to atmoshpere at the moment.. lol..
But I can alter as I like and I am not sure whether I like the noise so can pipe it under the car so it is less loud etc..

No bought the Forge secopdhand. I think you can buy direct from Forge, I did with the tuning kit, it did take a while to arrive though about 4weeks I think.
