Wink

hopefully some of you Teckies can help, I won't be able to contact dealer till Monday.

STi7UKPPP I have had the car from new done 16kmiles and just notice this week

I'll try and explain

When stationary and then slowly taking off on tight turns (Parking Etc.)

I sometimes fell a slight clonk, possibly taking up backlash or rearbrake pad.

But then the Rearwheel feels like a fiftypence piece, the body feels like the righthand side is rising more than the other but reversing it feel like that on the otherside. Weird sensation

I have check the Wheelnuts as thought they may have been loose first of all, but all OK. The Car drives/handles perfectly well

Is this a trait of the rear limited slip diff or the rear strut U/S or am I looking at impending doom?

Some clues would be gratefull

Tony

Sounds similar to the knocking that I get all the time at low speeds, you can physically feel the car shudder at the back.

There's gonna be a **** load of STi7 suspensions that need a thorough rework as the miles pile on.

Once Subaru customer services get back from their holidays I'm gonna be all over them like a rash, my car sounds like it's tapping out morse code at the rear end.

I just cannot understand how such a safety critical part of the car can have so many issues with so many customers and yet there is still no fix ?

My mates STI 6 did this at low speed when reversing or when stationary and adjusting the diff from inside. Fine when moving at speed forward. The diffs are are more aggressive and a bit clunky on sti's anyway compared to uk versions. But get it checked just incase, Has it always been like this or has it started recently?

The noise you heard in your mate's car was the electromagnetic centre diff slipping Blitz. Tony's car doesn't have a diff of this sort, so it can't be the same thing.

Either way, this sort of behaviour doesn't sound remotely normal, and as Scott suggests, wouldn't drive too far/fast on it until the car's been looked at properly.

Thumbs up

Many thanks to you all repling I didn't want to have "They all do that Sir" by the Dealer.

I'll just jack up the backend and for play before I drive it again I think the wheelhub nuts have been known to come loose but thought that would be noticable all the time.

I have a 30 mile trip to dealer and will drive it like my mum
Will be on to Dealer first thing in morning

Tony

GM,
Thanks for the adivce, I did exactly that I took it very slowly to the dealer today and got it checked out

We tried to get it to do the same on flat carpark but wouldnt come back

The Mecanhic took it away, checked suspension tie bar, wheel brgs, diff oils, propshaft's etc etc. said all was well he explained as my drive is very tight to get in with incline and having to go over a kerb meant that because of Front and rear LSD's they were possibly winding them selves up.

So clean bill of health and back to normal speeds

Tony

Perhaps may help if I put my brain in when in the Car
