Someone else will hopefully clarify this below but I do remember reading on here that dealers have been told by Subaru UK not to fill it to the full mark as it clogs up something or other, can't remember what though .

I have since noticed my car comes back from service just below the full mark.

Otis.

Thumbs up

The wisdom seems to be to have it halfway between the dipstick markings or slightly over. If it's completely full, it's said the extra oil pressure can force oil droplets up the wastegate lines, causing the wastegate solenoid to gunge up and start sticking.

Half way between low and high marks when hot as a rule.
