Intake Air Sensor?

Hello,

Can anyone tell me what is the sensor that sits in the plastic housing that takes air to the resonator is please?

Reason being that i am thinking of fitting an induction kit and need to know what to do with it.

It is an STi 4 Type R and looks like a standard part fitted from knew.

Any info. greatly appreciated.

It is the IAT or Inlet Air Temperature sensor.

When I installed my HKS induction kit I took out all the associated air inlet rubbish and mounted the IAT on one of the struts provided with the kit.

I initially did this with a couple of cable ties, but subsequent abuse from Firefox led to me create a little mount made from aluminium sheet and rivet this to the induction kit mounting strut.

The result is that the IAT is about an inch away from the Induction kit dome.

Thank you, I assume then as long as it is measuring the air in or around the inlet pipe this will have no detremental effect to performance.
