Hi all

my intention is to change the engine of my MY99 (european specification) by a stiV one
.however, i`m not aware about the advantages i can achieve with the change as well as the other changes need to be done in acordance ;this is, must i change or remap the ECU or simply change the engine.

by the way, does anybody know the turbo specification for these two models(MY99 and STI v5)?.

comments of skilled people will be appreciated

best regards

Is this a wind up?

Add chip/replace ecu +exhaust and filter change and you have similar performance

I would not bother wasting time or money going this route

thanks Steve

considering that i already have a complete superspint exhaust system(down pipe+mid section+final box)without cats, a pipercross inductin kit and a turbo pressure with peaks of 1.3 bar, do you still think in the same way?.

Your car as at stands should have no probs keeping up with an sti anyway!

I thought fuel was poor in Portugal, least last time I was there (about 3 months ago!)

I have my car mapped to RON 99 and use Millers Octane Booster (in the UK)

seriously though... dont bother.
If you want a bit more power and are'nt too worried about lag fit a bigger turbo.

I have VF22 hybrid on my sti5
You could add water injection and depending on the ecu increase the ignition advance - that would give a big power hike
