Question

HELP !!!!!!

With the centre diff wound forward slightly towards the "lock" position the car seems very unwilling to turn while moving off and clunks away to itself, same as when trying to reverse. then as soon as i wind the diff back to normal, there is a clunk and it is back to normal. The car is a Sti 4 type r 1997 with 24,ooo miles.
What is wrong with it ????
Somebody must know !

Cool

It's doing exactly what it should do dude.

The diff. making the banging noises is trying to tell you it's not a happy puppy.

DO NOT try and turn your TypeR with the diff. clicked forward.

I only adjust my centre diff. on and STI V TypeR V-Limited when;

(a) VERY wet roads (1 click forward)
(b) ICY roads (1-2 clicks forward)
(c) SNOW (2-Locked)
(d) ON TRACK (1 click forward)

Cheers
Chris.

Wink

No Worries Kev.

I think that all of us TypeR/RA/22B owners have had that "Ohhhhh $%^&" moment when the diff. grumbles for the first time.

Take it easy.

Cheers
Chris.
