Octane Booster - Worth Using ??
#1
I have an STi5 Type R with ScoobySport backbox..
As a rule I run on Super-unleaded. (Use to use BP, but they've dropped their octane rating to 97, so have switched to Shell where possible to get 98 octane fuel).
Have read a few links here about engine "detonation" on newer STi cars.
Is this common ? Would it be worth buying a couple of cases of "Millers Octane+" to drop a bottle into the tank everytime I fill up ??
I don't use the Scooby for travel to work, so when I take her out I tend to drive for enjoyment
Any info would be appreciated to avoid the chance of "detonation"....
Thanks,
SonicBoom

Oops. Just found the Ecotek articles.
May try the Octane Booster, but am quite interested in the Ecotek unit.
My only hesitation would be with where and how to fit it.
As mentioned in the threads, if Ecotek fitted it to one scooby it may provide a blue print for others.
Cheers,
