Question

Gents,

I've asked this question before, but unfortunately didn't get a very good response...

I would like to change the turbo on my MY96 UK turbo, but have no idea what to change to. My Delta Integrale driving friend recommends a Turbo Technics hybrid turbo (don't know if they do one?). However, I have heard mention of IHI and VF22 turbos also. What are these and which is regarded as the best way to go?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you have a UK-spec MY96, your car already has a very good turbo, the TD05!
This unit is very good and able to produce around 300bhp!

It may help if you give an indication as to why you want to change and what you want to get from the car?

Sorry guys,

The turbo has been becoming increasingly louder. This, combined with the mileage on it (108,000 now) kind of makes me wonder if it's about to perish. I would rather pre-empt this and replace the turbo with either a reconditioned replacement, or preferably a hybrid which would give me a little less lag/more torque.... especially when I got done the other day by an Uno Turbo...GRRRRRRR!

Thanks,

Karlos

I am getting very good results from my IHI VF23 Turbo. Pulls all the way to the redline and there is less lag than on a VF22.

Paul.
