Question

Does anyone know if a P1 gearbox (or any later model UK gb) will fit into a UK MY95?

I reckon a clutch change and possible synchomesh overhaul in the next year and wondered if it would be more economical to simply swap in a crash-recovered gearbox and clutch from a P1.

Anyone got compatibility info on gearboxes?

Cheers,

andy

Andy,

I was told by my dealer that the phase 2 gearbox won't bolt up to a phase one engine, so I think the bell housing is different..

I don't know about the clutch.. may be possible.

Cheers,

Alex

The later UK cars use a larger diameter clutch, it was part of the face lift.

Cool

Hi Andy,
Its probably going to be cheaper and easier for you to just buy an after market clutch (helix springs to mind!) shame about the gearbox thou, that may cost you a few pennies

Darren, do u have a green impreza with anthracite alloys??? just that i saw one in stockport nr pc world and wondered if it was you (sonic blue turbo with anthracite alloys!)
