I do believe my car runs better on SUL.
I keep struggling to find garages with SUL so i keep having to refill with UL.
Net result the ECU resets to the lower octane and takes about two tanks of SUL to get back to SUL setting. Sod that for a game!
Can anyone tell me with octane booster is bestest and where can i get it from???
Local retailers or mail order - don't mind just as long as i can get it and NOW!
I am based in Norfampton.
Many thanks
Paul

Millers for me has been the easiest to use and best.
I don,t know about Northampton its self but i know you can get it from Wilco Motor Spares(aka Carmaster) branches in Wellingborough, Kettering or Market Harborough.
If you can get to Harborough where i work i'll be happy to sort you some discount being a scoobynet member .
....JAMES.
Oops! Sorry if this is classed as advertising i dont normally do this kind of thing!

Paul, the best booster is Millers Octane Plus and if you want some that badly then I'm only 30 miles away and have 30 bottles which you can have for £10 each NOW.
On the other hand, call Scoobymania tomorrow (0115-913 3199) and you'll get them next day. Check

paul,
if it is so easy to increase the octane with
a coke size tin can of octane booster, why do
oil companies like,bp or shell spend so much
on research?

Have done some tests with 95ron & 95ron+ octane booster using my local agents ECM.
Manifold boost pres (max) 95ron 16.4psi(1.13bar)
Man boost pres (max) 95+oct 16.97psi(1.17bar)
This was using Wynns octane booster but I have now got some Millers to try.
The figures above were done one day appart under similar weather conditions.
When I went to the next step of the test using super u/l a week later the max manifold pres was down to 16.1psi which I can only attribute to the very low atmospheric pres on the day I tested(728mmHg)
Anyone any ideas on this?
Cheers

In answer to your question F**ked if i know. I am on my second tank of fuel with the Millers O/B and a will find out shortly if it has any effect or not. I am not expecting miracles, just smoother running and a bit more UMPH as with SUL.
Oh, i recon i got about 20 Miles per tank more on SUL, if the Millers does the same then it will pay for itself and some!

Just a thought.....
Has anybody tried running with a combination of methylbenzene, TEL, MMT and just for good measure a mix of water/methanol for det control? :-) That should take your effective RON rating up to at least 105 :-)
[BTW: Millers Octane Plus is based on MMT, which on its own is good for a RON hike of up to 3, coupled with TEL you can take that up to about 10 but you need a LOT, and the Boys in Blue won't be too impressed by the grey haze coming out of the exhaust...]
Cheers,
Pat.
