ECOTEK fuel performance enhancer
Auto Express have mentioned it on their site. It seems to have very good reports with some meaningful test results. I can see how it would make a rather rich running SIT a bit faster. My exhaust is black with soot. If I can find a fitter, I prepared to give it a go. Watch this space ...
Looks very interesting
"The Ecotek CB-26P is a non-return valve and it fits on your intake manifold vacuum hose to creating an air vortex within the manifold, keeping the fuel suspended in the air."
It bleeds air into the manifold, at low throttle (-ve pressure), leaning up the mixture somewhat (and creating turbulence).
Should have no effect when on-boost
This is just what the Scooby needs -- slightly leaner mixture during gentle cruising and no adverse affect when on boost
There some good (independant) reviews on their site, incl one from an EVO (IV/V/VII) owner
Any Scooby owners out there tried one yet ?

Update to my last reply
Not sure if the standard ECU will use the lambda sensor at part throttle and notice the mixture is a bit leaner and so try to pump in bit more fuel (which we don't want).
Or if it will just use the readings from the airflow meter and so won't notice the slight amount of extra air being supplied through the valve when at -ve pressure.
Still sounds well worth a try.

Their other claim is that this also provides turbulence in the manifold.
I'm a bit skeptical about this as there's quite a lot of turbulence in there already
(with the pulsing of the cylinders etc)
(Or maybe the cylinders suck in the airflow so fast thats its smoother than I think).
Anyway, the device would need to be connected near the centre of the manifold, especially on the Scoob with its long branches to each side of the engine, and there isn't any suitable 'large' diameter vacum pipe at the centre.

Have fitted device to a 1994 factory modified WRX (possibly ECU/engine? - VIN Plate ref.)
Other mods include
-KN induction kit (resinator box removed)
-Magnex back box.
-Ecotek fitted to manifold vaccum hose (possibly should be fitted to plenum
chamber) using 95 RON fuel.
All fitted at same time!- not good idea?
Ecotek results so far
- Performance: engine note changed, now very quiet & smooth sounding . Not
sure about power increase as
still need to reset ECU.
- CO2 Levels: lower
- Economy: gained possibly 2/3mpg. Will
relocate fitting to plenum
-to see if has greater effect?
