I'm no expert - can you help?

Over the past couple of days I have noticed that occasionally in higher gears at low revs (ie. 4th at 2500rpm), accelerating has hardly any effect, the rev counter just goes in to the turbo then shoots round to the redline with very little drive. When previously it wouldn't matter what gear I was in the car would just pick up and get going as soon as I depressed the accelerator.
My guess is that the clutch is slipping, but the car appears to be reasonably fine pulling away from traffic lights etc..
What do you think? If it is the clutch can anyone recommend a good all round uprated clutch for me (AP?).
94 WRX (71,000 k), not sure if clutch has been replaced before, I'm the first UK owner.
Cheers,
Tim.

If the rev needle is shooting round the clock and then dropping back again, it sounds very much like the clutch is slipping.
It is advisable to change it asap as continued use will damage the flywheel.
I have an AP clutch from Scoobymania which performs superbly. Make sure you change the release bearing as well though, as some clutch kits (AP included) don't include it in as standard.
Hope that helps.

Recently had the clutch go on my 93WRX and had a Helix clutch fitted, supplied and recommended by scoobysport, the clutch has a good feel under the pedal and bites hard..
hope this helps
