Stiff One ! (Quickshift)

Ive just fitted a Quickshift to my MY93 WRX and its made the shift REALLY stiff, has anyone found this?
If so, whats the fix?
It seems tight as its lifted the shift rod up the stick and made it an awkward angle where the rod passes under the centre console.
Hope someone can shed some light
