Question

I got wind that imports aren't required to pass emissions for an MOT!

Can anyone confirm this???

A bit sketchy this one. Some MOT stations do not have imports on their machine, but most of them do now days. You will have trouble getting your import through the MOT without cats if the operator specifies it should have them fitted.

My 97WRX with Scoobysport downpipe and decat centre + magnex rear box just scraped through after a good "warm up" session....failed on slow idle but passed on fast idle.

If the car is not on their computer they can use a "general Subaru" setting to get the testing kit to work, I think tales of imports not needing the test is down to a few ignorant testers who couldn't find the car and so didn't do the test. Just my guess mind.

Cool

Sorry, Imports are subject to the same noise limits, exhaust emmisions and speed limits as uk turbos... shame really.
