Question

Can any of you gurus tell me when I have to upgrade a clutch in an STi3? I am currently at 320bhp, (PE T75 exhaust and Blitz air induction). I was thinking of more.

Cheers,

Jim

Hi Jim,

Congratulations on choosing the best STI vintage!

The standard clutch in my car worked fairly well with 300ftlb torque (346bhp) for a while. I do think this is pushing it and I have recently replaced the unit with a Helix Group N unit.

Mail me offline if you want more details....

Moray

The AP Racing clutch that we sell is nominally rated at 310lb/ft Torque. (BHP not relevant with Clutch). What torque do you have?

Anything much more than about 340-350 lb/ft torque and you need to start looking at different options. Multi plate, Cerametallic, paddle type clutch's but the general driveability will suffer.

Mike.
