what injectors does an STI 5 Type R have?
380(cc injector size)x4(cos there's 4 of em) / 5(bhp) = 305(bhp)
440(cc injector size)x4(cos there's 4 of em) / 5(bhp) = 352(bhp)
550(cc injector size)x4(cos there's 4 of em) / 5(bhp) = 440(bhp)
740(cc injector size)x4(cos there's 4 of em) / 5(bhp) = 592(bhp)
850(cc injector size)x4(cos there's 4 of em) / 5(bhp) = 680(bhp)
maximum bhp

That's a very rough formula though, as it doesn't take into account the fuel pressure in use, or a maximum ideal duty cycle of between 85 and 90%. 440's are good for up to 350bhp in certain circumstances.
Micky, don't you have a Phase 1 engine? If so, I believe I'm correct in thinking that some of the older yellow injectors are 380's. Might well be wrong, but it'd be much safer to double check than simply assume they're 440's if you're thinking of upping the power.

When pat mapped my car, he said the duty cycle was 94% (i assume this was IDC) dunno what pressure the uprated fuel pump is running though!
He did say the car was therefore between 305bhp and 320Bhp.
If i looked into headers, and an FMIC, would I need to up the injectors to 550's (as I realise that 94% is probably overuse of the current ones). Also, as I still have the STandard VF28 (running at 1.3Bar), would it be worth upgrading the turbo (not looking at massive gains, just a bit more BHP thats all!
Johnny, therefore, would I be right in the following
(440*0.94)*4/5 = 330BHP
(0.94 being injectors running at 94% IDC)?

From: Leeds - It was 562.4bhp@28psi on Optimax, How much closer to 600 with race fuel and a bigger turbo?
incidently.. I depends on what cc's per bhp and what afr you run..
I go by 5.5cc's per bhp..
either way 850's look fun

very good sg72, the TDO5/06 has to be the best thing i have bought for my car.......i am now at 94% IDC on 550 @ 3 bar idle fuel pressure
can't wait for my next RR day, hope i can get the boost to hold this time

grease monkey mines a phase 2
i have kinda settled on a 320 to 350 final bhp output in my head, so ill stay with the yellows for now
320 was my initial target, but now i have planned on upgrading my turbo to sumthing else i thought it would be rude not to increase the power target
need a few things pre fitted first tho

mick, you have yellow 440's mate
sg72, i am running a power fc too, but with the boost control kit.
its fine on the road but doesn't make the target boost on the rollers!
i run 1.35 bar but can only manage to get it up to 1.25 on the rollers.
think i may have to invest in a AVC-R in the near future
