I have a minor niggle relating to my recently-acquired Sport. It's hard to describe (especially for the mechanically-challenged such as myself) but here goes...

The scenario is this - put your car in first gear and try to drive along smoothly without changing gear. The result is likely to be un-smooth, i.e. a bit jerky in response to the slightest up/down of the accelerator. Now change up and the jerkiness should disappear. On my car, once in a higher gear there is still a hint of jerkiness in response to minor adjustments on the accelerator which certainly isn't present on my turbo. Put your foot down in any gear and the first response will always be a bit of a clunk.

I'm worried this could be anything from gearbox to engine mounts but would appreciate any better-informed suggestions before I take it up with the dealer. The car's six months old and has done 17K - mainly on motorways I think.

Cheers,
Gareth
