Question

I own a US subaru impreza MY99

and i'm converting my engine from the
bland stock EJ25 N/A
to an WRX engine

but i am having trouble figuring out
how do distingush between the different types
of WRX engines. I was wondering where on the engine block i could find the engine code.

and how do i tell if its an EJ20G or EJ20K?

the EJ20K is the later model is that correct?
and is it true that it is open-deck?

i am going to use an wolf3dems system with it
if anyone has ever used that type of ems before any information would help allot...

Thanks,
Gino

Hi Gino

Sorry, I haven't got any idea about your question but just thought I'd say hello and welcome to one of our US cousins!

Cheers

Engine number is stamped under the alternator mounting site on Turbo models, i.e look at alternator, then look just behind and below it. There should be a number stamped. Thats your engine number that is Not a clue about codes though Perhaps someone can answer part 2?

How about Dave Power? Try emailing him or giving him a call (remember the time difference though!)...
