I have a UK 97MY with 24K miles.

Sometimes, when sitting at lights/junctions in neutral, when I drop the clutch and go to put gear lever into first there is a crunching / graunching sound and a jolt comes back through the lever. Goes in though.

Any comments? 1st gear syncro on the way out??????

James,

may be a 1st gear synchro....but also check that your clutch is fully releasing (i.e. it may need adjusting if it is dragging slightly). Hopefully it will be the latter because the clutch problem should be easy to fix.

Hope all goes well,

Andy
