Possible fueling problem.. but probably be okay..

Would be wise to think about a Knocklink anyway..
Super Unleaded of Optimax a must..

ScoobyECU would be a good investment as would get a map suitable for UK fuel rather than 100RON Jap fuel.

nice, de-cat came this morn, looks chunky lol when i saw, what does this mean RE the knocklink, does this mean im running lean or too lower RON fuel?what im getting at is the knocklink going amber/red saying 'heres a warning your engine is gonna pop' or does it mean, 'theres a problem, IE, fuel, go sort it'? also, seen them on jap inovations for £88 ish, is this all i need or do i need the plug/fitting kit i have seen people post about?

thanks AGAIN lol

If the knocklink shows red you are running to lean and/or bad fuel,ie, low RON value. The imediate thing to do is back off quick or, yes, you will cause damage.
Personally speaking i had a de-cat on my 96 WRX and i didnt have any probs whatsoever, but as mentiond, it is a very good idea to get a K.L just to keep an eye on things. 120 odd quid is much cheaper than a blown engine. Just tell them you want the harness, bosch sensor and obviously the 'box' itself.
