I have just fitted a Supersprint back box to my MY99. It is designed specifically for the Impreza and it has an oval shaped exhaust.
The car seems to produce more interesting sound over the normal exhaust but my question is how does this back box compare to others (Scoobysport, Devil etc.)
Do back boxes have massive differences between them? (Just back boxes not full exhaust systems)

DMel

I would like to think that all back boxes people put on their cars have been designed specifically designed for that car. I think fitting would be a problem otherwise!
As far as comparisons go, it's very much a matter of personal taste (sound) and dyno tests (power).
As long as you're happy with yours, that's all that matters.
Come to a meet or a track day if you want to compare 'notes'! (come on guys, that was pretty good!!)

Stef.

PS What made you choose a 'Supersprint'?
I've not heard of it before.

SuperSprint (as well as Ansa) is one of the oldest Italian exhaust manufacturers. Well known all over the continent, but not so much over here. In the old days, most quality/sport/racing exhaust manufacturers in Italy concentrated on Fiat derivates of the kind (Abarth, Giannini, etc.) and gradually expanded the range for other cars.

Thumbs up

I have a Supersprint backbox on an Alfa Romeo and I can happily say that it is undoubtedly a quality item. It's about three years old and is still in very good condition. The sound is superb too. An Italian friend of mine says that they are recognised in Italy as being the best quality available there, and that anyone in Italy who is interested in performance uses them. I can't comment on performance improvements because the backbox was fitted at the same time as the rest of the exhaust system and an upgraded chip. The package as a whole does work well though.

Ciao
