Mines got a nasty case of piston slap and I've been in contact with rallycolin in Reading to do the work.
He is looking into the parts for the job as the engines are a higher compression version of the ET20 (9:1).
I'm hopefully only going to get a piston swap but as he is looking at this engine for one S/tb, he should have the answers for what you may need.
I had a quote from Roger Clark for a £2500 bottom end but it isn't worth it now the car is worth less than a peanut.
If you can find a 99-00 WRX wagon then I assume they are the same engine as they have the same output and turbo?
Unfortunately I'm away from home today so I don't have Colins mobile number. Anyone help out with it?

Can anyone recommend where I can get a re-furbished short motor for my MY00 STb Forester. It is the block etc. as an Impreza (EY20). It is currently emitting a (getting) louder rattle from when cruising, this largely disappears when accelerating or decelerating. It disappears when the injector to cylinder 4 is disconnected. I guess it is small end bearing or piston gudgeon pin wear. The engine has covered 100,000 miles, and is in a reasonably high state of tune for a Forester (230bhp). Incidentally when investigating the problem I found that the plug for number 4 cylinder was badly eroded.
Any help and suggestions greatly received.
