all - hope you can help. The engine on my '98 WRX Import stuttered yesterday and the "Check Engine" warning light came on. I called Wincanton Motors who said if all seemed to be OK to drive the 2 miles home and check again when the engine was cold. On starting this morning, the light came on again so I re-set the ECU and all was well until it stuttered again and the "Check Engine" light came on again. For info, after re-setting the ECU, the "Check Engine" light flashed 3 times slowly and then 3 times quickly. Any ideas? - many thanks

many thanks for both replies. The speedo did pack up a few minutes before so it seems they are related. Do you know how I can solve the problem? many thanks, Mike

just get the local dealer to source and fit the sensor. Should sort your problem.

I had this problem a little while ago, ended up having to get a new speedo head (wasn't cheap )

My speedo recently stopped working and a cel code 33 has occured. Car is limited to 4500rpm limp home mode - you may notice a lot of stuttering if you try to excessively rev the car. Garage told me I need a new cable!
