Does anyone know where the abs g sensor is on an my96 uk turbo? I had an abs warning light come on so i took the car to the local dealership to be sorted, but after having the car all day they said it might? be the g sensor which should be located under the handbrake centre moulding. After being given a g sensor from an my 97 wrx i went to change it but found no sensor in the position the dealership said it would be in? So i still have the warning light up and the dealer want to charge me nearly £300 to fit something that isn't there! help please.

 

I believe my missus has got one of these but i'll be fooked if i can find it

I would suspect if you are nice to them and ask www.gradea-subaru.co.uk they would let you know where it is as they break them.

I thought there was just the sensors behind each wheel disk, but thankfully never had any trouble with mine.

There's certainly a G-sensor for the ABS just behind the handbrake on the Legacy GTB. Just under and in front of the storage bin/armrest.

Don't know about your Impreza I'm afraid.

Cheers lads, didn't think to ring grade a, they are very helpful especially a bloke called andy, had quite a few bits from them. i'll give him a ring, but if anyone can answer this query please do all input appreciated.

 

Rang grade a yesterday and they said they didn't know if the phase one scoob was fitted with one as they have only seen them under the handbrake in 97 on cars? Any idea's?

 

Didn't think the pre97 Impreza ABS had a G sensor.
Not seen one under the hand brake of mine, anyway...

I dimly remember reading somewhere that the ABS system has connections with the airbag system somehow. Can't remember where that was. (I'm fairly sure there are 2 G sensor type things in the airbag system.)
